Economy Guide

Guidelines may evolve as the server matures.

Currency

The server uses Create: Numismatics coins as its primary currency. Coins are minted in six denominations, from smallest to largest:

Spur
1x spurs
Bevel
8x spurs
Sprocket
16x spurs
Cog
64x spurs
Crown
8x cogs
Sun
64x cogs

New coins enter the economy only through The Skyward Council, there's no grinding vanilla resources into currency. Everyone starts on equal footing with a small starter kit the first time they join.

Starter Kit

Granted once, automatically, on your first join.

sprocket8× sprocket
bevel16× bevel
spur32× spur
+ 1× Physics Assembler to get you building.

The starter kit and events run by server staff are the only ways new currency enters the server. There's no way to mint coins from vanilla resources, so every coin in circulation is one the Council deliberately put there.

Guilds

Guilds are groups of at least 2 players who work together producing raw materials from a related family. Their primary goal is to sell intermediate goods in bulk, not to sell finished products directly to players.

Intermediates are inputs used in crafting recipes: flour, molten metals, bulk potions, raw vegetables, cobblestone, logs and planks, etc. If an item is consumed directly by a player it's probably not an intermediate.

Overlap between guilds is fine, it's just competition. Guild services should generally be contracted from nations directly.

Businesses

Businesses sell end products directly to players: food, tools, refined building blocks, bottled potions, redstone components, etc.

They're run by at least one person and are not bound by nation membership, you can set up a business wherever you want, though they carry slightly more restrictions than guild-backed operations.

Nations

Nations are collections of guilds and businesses working together. A nation must consist of at least 3 guilds (one business counts as half a guild, so 6 businesses also qualifies).

To be officially recognized, a nation must pay a monthly tax to The Skyward Council. This fee funds server infrastructure and supports struggling nations, it's meant to be fair, not punitive.

Nation Benefits

  • A seat on the admin council
  • Direct input on server direction and policies
  • Access to shared infrastructure and emergency resources
  • Eligibility for nation-level projects and events

These are release guidelines and may change as the server grows.
